The CEATY Project holds Second Transnational Meeting in Valencia

November 06, 2023
Clean Energy Ambassador Training for Youngsters (CEATY)

The online climate and energy training initiative aims to achieve the EU net zero emissions target by 2050 through education, public awareness and cooperation.

The Clean Energy Ambassador Training for Youngsters (CEATY) project was set up to fight global warming. It provides school children, aged 12 to 16, with knowledge about energy consumption, energy savings, renewable energy sources, developing their ecological awareness, and enabling them to become Clean Energy Ambassadors. The aim of CEATY is in line with the new 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which reflects the urgency of integrating the principles of Education for Sustainable Development at all educational levels.

Empowering learners to protect the environment

The CEATY objective will be achieved through the development of online teaching tools, facilitating change in education by empowering learners to contribute to the protection of the environment and combat climate change. For this purpose, a new digital teaching platform will be developed. The E-learning platform, the Toolkit for Clean Energy Ambassadors and online training will be open and free for everyone to use. The attractive and entertaining activities in the training program will motivate students to share them with their siblings and peers.

Analyzing the results and defining the next steps

The aim of the second CEATY meeting in Valencia was to analyze the results of the first research phase, which took place in all participating countries and involved teachers, pupils and parents. During the meeting, the next steps for the first outcome were defined. These include curriculum design on green energy sources, energy efficiency, and climate change, adjusted to the needs of the five partner countries' schools that are involved in the project.

The consortium is formed of the following partners:

  • Sofia Energy Agency (SOFENA), Bulgaria
  • Local Energy Agency Of Gorenjska (LEAG), Slovenia
  • Ankara Pursaklar Science High School (APFL), Turkey
  • Lidi Smart Solutions, Netherlands
  • SGS Tecnos SA, Spain
